WORSHIP PROGRAM
JANUARY 3, 2010
January 3rd: Second Sunday After Christmas
“Later, after the angels, after the worshiping shepherds and kings alike, after the glow of the star, they went back…as we all must, back to a world that doesn’t understand our talk of angels and stars and especially not the Child. Like they did, we have to go back, but, also like they did, we can still sing “Hallelujah!” Ann Weems

Unison Prayer for the New Year
----O Lord, here we are again at the ending of one year and the beginning of another one altogether, most of us ready to welcome in the new with open arms. If we cannot summon a hopeful strength for 2010 because we are so wearied from 2009, O Lord, raise us up; raise our sight, raise our expectation, raise our determination. Remind us forcefully, right now, this moment, as we stand on the precipice, that with you, our God, all things are possible. All things. Everything. Anything.
Light the way—your way—into this new year, O Lord, and if we do not follow willingly, drag us with you, that where you are, so shall we be…all the year long.
