Welcome
The theme song from the old television show “Cheers” applies (only slightly edited): "Sometimes you need to be where everyone else and their troubles are the same as you and yours. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name."
Sandston Presbyterian Church is that place; we are those people. Certainly, we do things together, in groups large and small, and individually, such as: worship, classes, local out-reaching or taking-in projects, same as every other congregation, and you can read about or keep up with those goings-on in the other “pages” of this site. But even though what we do is reflective of who we are as this particular group of God's people, what draws us—long-time or new member, youngest or oldest and every age in between—genuinely matters to every other one of us.
We are a “loverly bunch of coconuts” who simply like and enjoy each other’s company. We are all of us different, but, as the song puts it, all of us the same—we are in it together, whatever “it” is or may be. We are each of us free to be who we are, and loved anyway! If you walk through the door a stranger, you are surrounded by new friends and invited into the family before you are allowed to walk back out.
The numbers report that there are some hundred and fifty of us if we all boarded an ark together at the same time. It is, for us and those who want connectedness and intimacy, a good size, a good fit. Try us on.
