Morning Worship

Worship with the sinners and saints who are Sandston Presbyterian Church is a happening. It is both deeply meaningful, but also highly enjoyable; filled with moments of quiet, peaceful meditation, as well as holy laughter bouncing off the walls; thought-provoking, and, well, entertaining. We are hardly a stiff, somber gathering of sourpusses.
We more informal than we are formal. Yes, there is a comfortingly familiar order of worship, but how it all comes out in the wash can be rather unpredictable from Sunday to Sunday.
Most all, especially, of our younger couples and families who come to check us out and never leave tell us something to the effect that, “We know what to expect every Sunday, but we hate to miss any Sunday, because we never know what is going to happen!

Our children are an integral part of our worship. They remind us in their own whimsical freshness and open honesty what it is to come before the Lord in wonder and expectancy. The pastor’s “Time With the Children” is almost always a light-hearted, “anything can happen and usually does” event, after which they are either welcome to stay in the sanctuary throughout the service or invited to traipse off to the Educational Building for fun and games together which doesn’t include a boring sermon.
